Sunday, August 9th, 1964: Bums Cepeda Smacks 5 Hits!
"It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Los Angeles first baseman Orlando Cepeda said to SION reporters after his fantastic 5-6 day against the New York Gothams at Bums Los Angeles Coliseum. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."

The Bums had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 22-7.

O. Cepeda grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off D. Mossi in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 7th.

This season Cepeda has hit 24 home runs and posted a .326 batting average.
