 | Sunday, September 11th, 1966: Davalillo Torches Missions for 5 Hits It was a parade of hits for Vic Davalillo of the Baltimore Huns...one right after another...a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the San Francisco Missions for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Huns to a 10-4 victory. "Davalillo was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Missions manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." V. Davalillo singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In the 1966 campaign Davalillo has hit at a .345 clip with 34 RBIs, 1 home run and 60 runs scored. |
