 | Saturday, October 1st, 1966: September Sensation AL's Best Rookie The Antiquity League made the official announcement today. The Rookie of the Month honor went to Graig Nettles of Denver. He was singled out as the top-rated rookie for the month of September. Last month the 22-year-old Rams third baseman played in 26 games and hit .313 with 2 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs. Nettles also scored 8 times and drove in 15 runs. So far this season Nettles has 5 home runs and a .272 batting average. |
