Antiquity League News Article | |  | Saturday, July 22nd, 1967: Johnson Pitches Bums to Shutout Victory Owen Johnson had an impressive outing today. He hurled the Los Angeles Bums to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Detroit Wolverines, yielding 2 hits with 2 strikeouts and no walks.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," the Detroit skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
Thus far this season Johnson has posted a 4-0 record, started 2 games, struck out 37 batters in 57.2 innings and compiled a 2.65 ERA. | |
