Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Jim Ray Hart of the Rams knows this firsthand. He was injured against the San Francisco Missions while running the bases. Diagnosed as a torn hip muscle, the Denver left fielder is expected to miss 6 weeks. Hart was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."

Denver fans will be disappointed to learn that Tim McCarver developed a strained groin muscle while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Denver Rams manager that McCarver was expected to miss 3 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the catcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

SION reports that Denver reliever Ron Reed was injured last night and suffered a concussion falling off a horse. He received treatment at a local hospital and was released. He is expected to miss 2 weeks before resuming baseball activity.
