| Breaking News |  | Saturday, July 21st, 1962: Denver Center Fielder Injured "It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Vada Pinson after injuring himself in a game against Chicago. The Denver manager told SION reporters, "He will miss up to one week with a fractured hand." The Rams will have to decide over the next day or two whether the center fielder will go on the disabled list.

Ray Washburn will miss 2 weeks due to a finger blister. In the Denver-St. Louis game he sustained the injury while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Washburn sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."
