Saturday, July 21st, 1962: Denver Center Fielder Injured
"It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Vada Pinson after injuring himself in a game against Chicago. The Denver manager told SION reporters, "He will miss up to one week with a fractured hand." The Rams will have to decide over the next day or two whether the center fielder will go on the disabled list.

So far this year Pinson is batting .290 with 9 home runs, 44 RBIs and 50 runs scored.
Thursday, July 19th, 1962: Gallagher Holds Denver Scoreless
Doug Gallagher of the Minnesota Empire Builders was firing on all cylinders against the Denver Rams. He blanked them 4-0 on 4 hits and posted 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.

In 1962 Gallagher has no saves, tossed 65 innings, fanned 37 batters and produced an ERA of 2.08. He has also been credited with 3 wins and 4 losses.
Monday, June 25th, 1962: Injury Forces Ray Washburn Out
The Rams received bad news this morning. Ray Washburn will miss 2 weeks due to a finger blister. In the Denver-St. Louis game he sustained the injury while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Washburn sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."

During this season Washburn has delivered 2 saves. In 21 relief appearances, he has 30 strikeouts in 35.1 innings with a 5.35 ERA and 2 wins and 1 loss.
