Monday, August 14th, 1967: Minnesota's Powell AL's Hottest Hitter
This week's Player of the Week was Boog Powell of the Minnesota Empire Builders.

He battered Antiquity League pitching for 10 hits in 21 at-bats, 5 home runs, and 12 RBIs while hitting .476 and scoring 7 runs.

Thus far this year Powell is batting .264 with 22 home runs, 77 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
Monday, June 26th, 1967: Minnesota's Prince Injured
Don Prince and the Minnesota Empire Builders got a bad break in today's game against the Lefties as the team confirmed he will miss 2 weeks with dead arm syndrome. The Empire Builders reliever suffered the injury throwing a pitch. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.

In 1967 Prince has no saves, tossed 22.1 innings, fanned 6 batters and produced an ERA of 2.42. He has also been credited with no wins and 1 loss.
Tuesday, June 6th, 1967: Brunet Strong Arms Minnesota
The Empire Builders manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Philadelphia Keystones 4-0.

"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.

George Brunet blanked them on 6 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Brunet said.

"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Checking out his stats for the year, Brunet has racked up 6 wins and 4 losses in 12 starts, 3.89 ERA and struck out 54 batters in 83.1 innings.
