Thursday, August 3rd, 1967: Cleveland's Koufax Shines, Shuts Out St. Louis
Sandy Koufax of the Cleveland Stevedores shut out the St. Louis Flyers 3-0, held them to 2 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Koufax said, "I could throw any pitch on any count."

The St. Louis skipper called his game a jewel, saying, "The way he was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him."

In 21 starts this year Koufax has recorded a 10-7 record and a 2.82 ERA.
Sunday, July 9th, 1967: Hart Raps St. Louis for 5 Hits
History in the making. That's what the fans at Mile High Ballpark got to see today, when Denver outplayed the Flyers 12-4. Jim Ray Hart of the Rams came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against St. Louis.

In the postgame press conference the St. Louis skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."

J. Hart singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off D. Aust in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off L. McDaniel in the 8th.

For the season, Hart is hitting at a .284 clip with 9 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 29 runs. He has 57 hits, 21 walks and a .350 on-base percentage.
Friday, July 7th, 1967: Jenkins Twirls Rams to Shutout Win
"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus. He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

And that's what Fergie Jenkins did as he led the Rams to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Flyers.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," the St. Louis manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

Jenkins yielded 6 hits and had 7 strikeouts and no walks in a standout performance.

In 18 starts this year Jenkins has recorded a 8-6 record and a 3.39 ERA.
