Thursday, August 10th, 1967: Davanon on Rampage Against Cannons!
All game long Phoenix's Jerry Davanon was rattling the walls at Vally of the Sun Park and banging out base hits against the Calgary Cannons. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Rattlers had a 8-6 victory.

Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 21-year-old shortstop said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

J. Davanon singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This season Davanon is batting .297 with 96 hits, 3 home runs, 29 RBIs, .359 OBP and has scored 51 runs.
Wednesday, August 2nd, 1967: Rumor du Jour; Phoenix's Wagner Demanding Trade
It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Phoenix were buzzing with the news that their 33-year old left fielder Leon Wagner had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Phoenix or wanting to leave." said one person.
Friday, July 21st, 1967: High-5s for Rollins! Goes 5-7!
Rich Rollins really did a number on the Rattlers in the Rochester 10-9 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 7 at-bats. But Rich Rollins did just that today for the Lakers and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.

"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 29-year-old third baseman said after his record-setting performance.

R. Rollins grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 13th.

This year Rollins has hit at a .329 pace and produced 21 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 25 runs.
