| Breaking News |  | Monday, August 7th, 1967: Blanco on the Attack, Player of the Week What a week it was for Ossie Blanco! The Milwaukee left fielder took ML Triple A Player of the Week honors after wearing out the pitchers with a .519 batting average in his recent games.
Blanco registered 14 hits in 27 at-bats as he cracked no home runs and drove in 5 runs.
So far this season Blanco is batting .286 with no home runs, 41 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 124 hits in 433 at-bats, 27 walks and a .330 OBP. Blanco has played in 101 games. |  | Friday, July 28th, 1967: Harrisburg Blanks Churners, Parsons at His Best "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Milwaukee manager after his club suffered a 2-0 shutout at the hands of Tom Parsons of the Harrisburg Capitols. He held the Milwaukee Churners scoreless in a 5-hit whitewash.
Parsons was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Tom did a whale of a pitching job."
This year Parsons has compiled a 4-3 mark with a 3.43 ERA. |  | Sunday, July 23rd, 1967: Niekro Strong Arms Churners in Shutout In a knockout performance, Joe Niekro beat the Churners 6-0 with an impressive 6-hit shutout.
The Texans hurler finished with 3 strikeouts and 4 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Niekro told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Churners manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
