| Breaking News |  | Thursday, August 17th, 1967: May 5-6 for Las Vegas "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Las Vegas first baseman Lee May said to SION reporters after his fantastic 5-6 day against the Frederick Orioles at Highrollers Field. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."
The Gamblers had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 12-2.
L. May grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off J. Matlack in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 9th.

He has 97 hits in 338 at-bats and played in 81 games. |  | Monday, August 14th, 1967: Matlack Blanks Louisville Jon Matlack of the Frederick Orioles mixed his pitches well and fashioned a 10-0 shutout today. The 17-year-old hurler shut down the Louisville offense, holding them to 5 hits. He struck out 9 while walking 2.

He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Frederick Orioles with a 6-hit shutout in which he struck out 3 and gave up 2 walks.
