Instead Haney showed he knew how best to hit them as he easily handled Dukes pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Rivermen to a 16-5 triumph at Guerillas Ballpark.
He told SION reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball."
The Poughkeepsie skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that...blindfold him...and then pitch him differently, just to be sure."
L. Haney hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off J. Shellenback in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
