| Breaking News | | Wednesday, August 9th, 1967: Dobson Tosses Shutout Against Peoria "Pat Dobson is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Albuquerque hurler tossed a complete game 6-hit shutout against the Peoria Rivermen.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Dobson. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."
Dobson walked 2 and struck out 8 in the 1-0 victory.
In 22 starts this season Dobson has notched a 9-6 record and a 2.72 ERA. | | Saturday, July 22nd, 1967: Hunter Holds Birmingham Scoreless Catfish Hunter was in command in his outing against the Birmingham Steelers. He hurled the Peoria Rivermen to a 15-0 shutout victory, yielded 6 hits and chalked up 7 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"A complete game shutout. That's fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen."
Hunter has made 21 starts, tossed 172 innings, struck out 115 batters and walked 42. His record is 9-7 with a 2.41 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .236 batting average. | | Saturday, June 17th, 1967: Shreveport Blanked by Hunter "I had everything working for me out there.
